Pretty things go to Hell, Blinki! (Future of Tradition 7:30 pm, Friday & Saturday)

  • Dr. Chardonée & The Guerilla Divas--Let The Guerrilla Divas take you on a unique journey to the world of Vaudeville through music, comedy, satire and fabulous costumes.
  • "A Fistful of Finger"--An adult spaghetti western puppet show, done ninja style, by Jim Julien
  • "Whispering Pines" Part 4--One of a four part video soap opera by Netherland artist Shana Moulton. It features a woman’s search focused on the whereabouts of Meepurrs the cat.
  • Legacy Butoh Theatre--A Butoh performance by Tina Ford-Cox & John Creery
  • Hellblinki Sextet--Part Brechtian Tin Pan Alley, part aural collage, and part experimental theatre, is an everchanging conglomeration of musicians and performers, as enigmatic as the sounds and visuals they present...

The Mars Explorer Show (Future of Tradition 10:00 pm, Friday & Saturday)

  • Blue Moves Juan Prophet--Modern Dance and Vaudeville Rock
  • Asheville Hoofer's Club--Traditional Tap Dance with a Twist
  • "Life Unveiled"--Ten Men from Jubilee! Community in cooperation with choreographer and dancer, Barrie Barton, present a dance and voice collage reflecting the multitude of steps taken and the life events that propelled us - from risks to renewal.
  • “Whispering Pine” Part 2--One of a four part video soap opera by Netherland artist Shana Moulton. It features a woman’s search focused on the whereabouts of Meepurrs the cat.
  • “Mandala”--Blurring the line between visual art and dance, Ilsa Ananda and World Spirit Bellydance present a moving meditation: with their steps, a Mandala is born.
  • “Ring In the New Year!”--Laura "lulu" Edmonds ushers in the Chinese New Year with various martial arts stylings. You will see elements of wu style of tai chi chuan, eagle claw kung fu of the northern shaolin tradition, chi kung, northern shoalin swordplay and traditional lion dance to celebrate the ushering in the Year of the Dog.
  • “the forever OF time” Performance by Antanas Vainius and Mountaine Mort Jonas. Before you watch: Envision a fragment of your future or your tradition. Be ready.
  • “Tranceform Venus—Blacklight Fashion Review”--A reunion performance by the Tranceform Venus family and friends puts the amazing costumes of nearly a decade of performance on display in a Blacklight Fashion Show. This is not your mother’s fashion show, though—these zany ultraviolet fanatics will bend your mind around the catwalk with their funky music and surprise performance vignettes.

No Chickens Killed! Really! (Club Hairspray 7:30pm, Friday & Saturday)

  • Experimental Lucas--Innovative, Improvisational, 100% Organically homegrown JazzaDelicFunkGrassRastaBilly
  • "Millificent the Crone"--A Monologue by Lisa Francia
  • Feral Chihuahuas--A sketch comedy group of a different breed, with a mission to be brave, smart, edgy, and most of all, funny.
  • Operation Marzipan--"Pawns"A video short staring Peter & Nurazim
  • "Memoirs of a Fromer B-movie Starlet"--A Monologue by Lisa Francia
  • "Whispering Pines" Part 3--One of a four part video soap opera by Netherland artist Shana Moulton. It features a woman’s search focused on the whereabouts of Meepurrs the cat.
  • Irene Moon (Guest Artist)--Friday: Auk Theatre (with Irene Moon)—noisy, short, and simple Absurdist theatre with only the best topics in consideration. Saturday: Irene Moon and the Begonia society—Lecture, multimedia, and insects, all tastefully presented.

The Pure Assault Show (Wedge Gallery, 10:00pm, Friday & Saturday)

  • Pure Energy--An experimental harmonic overtone and percussion ensemble that uses bells, didjeridu, harmonic overtone singing, drums and various other instruments to create meditative and energizing soundscapes.
  • B Love--A multifaceted art experience including an eclectic, Jazz quintet, spoken word, and found-object visual displays
  • “Heads or Tails” (Guest Artist)--Dolores Wilbur--a multimedia installation piece, two guys who might lose something important.
  • The Media Capture Ensemble--A hypertextual performace art piece, utilizing the aesthetics of punk rock, modern dance, and multimedia/interactivei nstallation work that weaves a rich tapestry of unsettling social commentary.

The 99 and 3/4% Guaranteed Show (BeBe Theatre, 7:30pm, Thursday, Friday & Saturday)

  • "Salome`s Schizophrenia"--A dance /drama combining spoken word and dance by Diana Shahein of Beledi Dance Theatre and Rebecca Morris of The Redundant Theatre Company Theatre
  • "Whispering Pines" Part 1--One of a four part video soap opera by Netherland artist Shana Moulton. It features a woman’s search focused on the whereabouts of Meepurrs the cat.
  • "The Bob & Tom Show"--An exploration of movement, communication, image, filtered through filial relation and limitation.
  • "Tag Team"--The interplay of light & dark in movement inspired by the work of tina Modotti. By Susan Collard.
  • Jim Julien *A sound exploration
  • "What She Is"--An exploration of five poems by Annelinde Metzner using live improvised music by Annelinde and Sue Ford, with dance by Shelli Lodge Stanback. The pieces examine world events from one woman's unique point of view.
  • "Yearbook"--Spoken word/movement performance by Jynormous Theatre Company

Oh you, Venus Transect! Show (BeBe Theatre, 10:00pm, Friday, Saturday & 2:00pm Sunday)

  • Untitled--Dancers Kathy Meyers, Jenni Oldham, Erin Braasch collaborate with visual artist Shelly Pereda to explore the powerful archetypes of women and the journey of transformation.
  • "Whispering Pines" Part 2--One of a four part video soap opera by Netherland artist Shana Moulton. It features a woman’s search focused on the whereabouts of Meepurrs the cat.
  • Fabiana's Dance--Belly dance meets jazz dance meets drag queens.
  • "Hole"--A provocative, evocative, and offensive reality check by Primal Escapement.
  • Meg Macleod--With tap dance and the ukulele, Meg creates a song with the audience.
  • Cheryl Burns--Movement and images explore the concepts of stillness vs. chaos
  • "Caught"--Audience members are given polaroid cameras and asked to provide "flash" light for "Caught" (an exploration of bodies and light). Afterwards they will use the photographs in a personal artistic creation.
